What To Wear
White Clothes* Avoid
white clothes, they can drain out your face too much and take too much attention
away from your facial features. A white shirt with a darker over shirt or a
jacket that is unbuttoned could work.
*Dark Clothes* Wearing a dark shirt with long sleeves is perfect. A dark
shirt can do the opposite of a white shirt as a dark shirt can draw your face
into the "lookers" eyes more. A dark shirt will make your facial
features stand out as it is a focal point.
*Dark Clothes, Scruffy Look* (for men) A set of dark clothes
will again make your facial features stand out. For example, a leather
jacket, t-shirt & slight beard growth is a good look if you are interested
in getting into soap operas & film. It has the "Hollywood hunk"
look.
*Sleeveless Tops* Please avoid
these. The skin on your arms will compete with your face.
*Color* If doing a color shot, try to wear something that can bring color
up to your face. Headshots are all about framing the face and drawing attention
to the eyes.
Women might want to try layering clothes. Try wearing your favorite shirt
and vest, or a leather jacket over a body suit. If you like sweaters, you
might want to try a textured sweater. Don't use too much jewelry or props
as they might give you a "fake" look. Remember you want to look
like yourself.
After we discuss your headshot needs, send a $50 deposit with the date we decided on and your all set. You'll arrive with hair & make up applied yourself, and several different tops. We'll pick out the ones we like. You'll receive all the clothing information you'll need after your deposit is received. Guys get some light make-up also.
After you get ready, we'll shoot a few test shots to check lighting, make up etc. Once we agree everything looks great, we'll shoot about 20-30 shots. You have the option of wearing a different blouse if you want and shooting around 20-30 more shots. If you don't want to change tops, that's fine, but the price remains the same. Your choice.
Your balance will be due at the shoot, check, cash, credit card.
You will receive all the shots except duplicates on a CD rom in about a week. You can print any photo from your cd as you like. You won't have to keep buying prints from me. That's it!
We'll have fun, take our time, and
create some beautiful photos for you. Please allow several hours for your shoot.
References available. Please do not bring friends or family. My studio is
located in my home and we can not accommodate large groups.
